\nSince he first started in 1995, the cult project of French composer Geoffroy D. evolved progressively from a dark ambient background, inspired among others by the atonal style of fellow coutrymen Les Joyaux de la Princesse, to a unique type of melodic, catchy and supremely danceable electro pop, reminiscent of the best of 80\u2019s \u00ab\u00a0new wave\u00a0\u00bb sound, particularly Taxi Girl or old Etienne Daho.
\nNevertheless, the martial atmosphere, drum rolls and darkly neoclassical aesthetics remain central, particularly on stage, where Derni\u00e8re Volont\u00e9 deserve more than anyone the \u00ab\u00a0military pop\u00a0\u00bb tag.
\nLast album Mon Meilleur Ennemi<\/em> shows Derni\u00e8re Volont\u00e9 more synth pop, sexy and romantically poetic than ever – a band that managed to rejuvenate itself without losing its soul and unique character.
